What Barb said

“I have used and suggested this to so many people over almost two decades. It’s a hit. Great for heat protection. Smells amazing. Spreads really well! 7/10 rating. Great for all hair types.”

Who it’s for

All hair types. Particularly beneficial for dry, damaged, or color-treated hair that needs both rich moisture and thermal protection before heat styling. If you heat-style regularly and want a leave-in that spreads evenly every time without concentrating at the ends, this is the product.

Who it isn’t for

Clean-routine clients — this is not a clean formula. Not specifically positioned as a color-protection product (it’s a heat protectant first, for dry and damaged hair).

Formulation notes

Not clean. Silicone-based with plant-based proteins and niacinamide. Specifically formulated for dry/damaged hair with heat protection. Not labeled color-safe by Kérastase — if color protection is a priority, the other products on this list (RŌZ, R+Co, Crown Affair, Davines) are more explicitly positioned for it. Best used as a heat protectant on dry or damaged hair.

Pros and cons

Pros: Exceptional heat protection · Best-in-class application feel (spreads evenly, doesn’t concentrate) · Iconic scent · 20-year professional track record

Cons: Not clean · Not labeled color-safe · Premium price · Primarily a heat protectant, not a color-protection product
